Gordons Bay is the “centre of a star” – our very own mini Monte Carlo with the sea being framed by a backdrop of exquisite mountains. Its location is prime, 40 mins drive from some of the best the Cape has to offer. Be it the vibrant living Cape Town boasts, Stellenbosch’s beautiful wine route, whale spotting in Hermanus or just lounging in Franschhoek, you’re spoilt for choice!
The climate is Mediterranean, average maximum temperatures peak at 35 degrees from December to March. Summers are warm and dry, with some wind. Spring and Autumn have mild and balmy days. Winters tend to be moderate, but chilly in the evenings. Snow can at times be seen on the Helderberg Mountains
Gordons Bay has some of the best beaches in the Cape, beautiful white sand, rock pools, shallow paddling areas and calm seas. The sea is much warmer here than you will find on the Atlantic coast. Bikini Beach has been awarded Blue Flag status, an international quality rating of the highest order.
We are proud to say we have 2 harbours in our little village. One is the original working harbour which is still used by fishing boats and yachts. It is also home to the Gordons Bay Yacht Club, National Sea Rescue Institute and the SA Navy. The new Harbour is situated in Harbour Island and is home to many charter boats and yachts. This harbour is also home to the Gordons Bay Boat Angling Club. Both harbours have a variety of very colourful and interesting restaurants.
